I'm Thankful for...

Today I am thankful for the Thumb Society.  Let me explain.  In our ward, the Young Women belong to a secret society... okay it's not secret, because everyone knows about it; but two years ago, Sister Dalton, the Young Woman General President gave the girls a challenge to smile, read the Book of Mormon five minutes a day, and say morning and night prayers.  In our ward, we pass around a necklace and each time you get the necklace you strive to be 100% on these challenges.  Last week I was the recipient of the thumb, and it is such a blessing to have a tangible reminder to help you do the right thing.  Each Sunday before we choose a new person to take the thumb, we give the girls a thumbs up and they do it back.  It's a fun way to remind them without really saying anything.  Also, there is a journal that is passed with the necklace where we record our experiences.  It's really great to read back and see how the thumb is changing all of our lives.  Do you want to be part of the secret thumb society?  All you have to do is commit to smiling, reading the scriptures, and praying daily!  Let's all take Sister Dalton's challenge and see if it doesn't change your life!!
